Christopher Do - Chairman of SF Board

Christopher Do is the Chairman of the Board for NAAAP-SF.  In this role, he will lead the Board in their efforts to grow and develop leaders within the local Asian professional community.

Mr.  Do is a Vice President-Investments and head of The Do Group at UBS in San Francisco. The Do Group is responsible for helping wealthy families with financial planning, tax minimization strategies, estate planning, residential & commercial loans, life insurance, and portfolio management. Prior to joining UBS, Mr. Do was a Vice President and ran a successful private client practice over at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Do has also held senior positions on the institutional side with many of the top New York banks. His experience includes investment banking, sales and trading, and portfolio management. Notably, he personally managed an institutional investment portfolio in excess of 20 billion dollars for the likes of the State of Washington Investment Board, All State Insurance, and the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation. Mr. Do began his career in 1992 in the fixed income derivatives group at Salomon Brothers, run by Myron Scholes, the Nobel prize winner and developer of the Black Scholes option pricing model. Mr. Do graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1992 with a Systems Engineering Degree, along with a Management degree and a Finance degree from the Wharton School of Business.

Mr. Do is passionate about supporting the non-profit community here in the Bay Area. He is on the Advisory Board of Directors for Junior Achievement in San Francisco as well as the Board of Trustees for the San Jose Repertory Theatre and is the founder of the Northern California chapter of UPAAN (University of Pennsylvania Asian Alumni Association). He is also a past member of the Board of Directors of ASCEND San Francisco-Bay Area, a professional organization focused on the development and advancement of accounting and finance professionals.

While not working 24/7 for his clients and non-profit endeavors, Mr. Do enjoys traveling, collecting fine wines, and cooking for friends.


Derek Fung - President, SF Board

Derek is the president of NAAAP-SF.  In this role, he is responsible for the overall direction of the chapter and coordination of the officers to ensure that the entire team moves with a shared vision and sense of purpose.  Being part of the board of directors, he is also responsible for taking the adivce and experience of the board applying it to NAAAP-SF's planning and activities.

Derek recently moved to the San Francisco area from Washington, DC, where he was also involved with NAAAP-DC activities.  He is currently a senior product manager at Recommind, Inc, an enterprise Information Risk Management and eDiscovery software company based out of San Francisco.  In this role he drives the direction of the product suite by acting as the central owner of the product's vision, and driving the organization to turn this vision into an actual product though daily oversight and interaction with all other departments to makre sure all product features are delivered at a high level of quality.

Derek holds a double B.Sc. degree in Industrial Management and Information Systems from Carnegie Mellon University, in a little village in Southwestern Pennsylvania called Pittsburgh, He enjoys traveling and running.


Wendy Sung - SF Board

Wendy Sung is a Board of Directors Member and National Representative for NAAAP-SF.  As National Representative, Wendy liazes between National and NAAAP-SF to provide NAAAP-SF with information about issues at the National level and also represents the SF chapter during NAAAP National board meetings.

Wendy recently moved to San Francisco from Washington, D.C., where she was heavily involved in the Asian Pacific American community for a number of years.  Before moving to San Francisco, Wendy was the past President, Vice President, Board of Directors Member, and National Representative for NAAAP-DC.  In addition, she served on the NAAAP National Sponsorship Committee for the 2008 National Convention.  She has also served as a Board of Directors Member for DC APA Film, Inc. and was also an adviser on the Sponsorship and Marketing Committees for this film festival.

Wendy is currently a Senior Practice Planning & Analysis Coordinator at Jones Day, managing the Energy and Insurance Liabilities & Recovery practices.  Prior to Jones Day, Wendy was a Marketing Associate for Legal Times, an Incisive Media publication.

Wendy earned her B.A. in Economics from the University of Iowa and her M.S. in Marketing from the University of Maryland.  She enjoys relaxing beach vacations and is a fan/supporter of independent Asian American film.


Justin Hong - SF Board

Justin is a Board of Directors Member for NAAAP-SF. As a Board Member, Justin works with the rest of the Board and Officers to define NAAAP-SF’s overall direction and strategy.

Justin takes a special interest in career development and leadership training, and has advocated for both in his leadership roles within NAAAP-SF. As the former NAAAP-SF Secretary for 2008, he helped organize several events focusing on educating members on the MBA application process, connecting members with leadership mentors, and hosting networking events. He has also established partnerships with other key organizations and corporations in the Bay Area, including the Japan Society of Northern California and Kaplan Inc.

Justin is a product manager at Sun Microsystems, where he manages several products focusing on the Java platform. In the past, Justin has also held roles within software engineering and project management at several companies within the high tech industry.

Justin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of California – Los Angeles. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis and pool.


Presley Chan - SF Board

Presley Chan is a Board of Directors Member for NAAAP-SF. In this role, Presley is responsible for defining, communicating, and aligning strategies and values reflective of NAAAP’s Bay Area members, as well as those bestowed upon by the national association.

Presley’s innate desire to enhance leadership and entrepreneurial development is exemplified through work within the Bay Area Asian American community. As the former Programs Coordinator for the Asian Business League, he worked closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors and partner organizations to host developmental seminars, mixers and mentorship programs. In 2005 and 2006, he co-directed and co-produced the Miss Chinatown USA Pageant. In this role, he worked closely with the San Francisco Chinese Chamber of Commerce to align this signature event with the values and expectations of modern-day audiences. Most recently, Presley has headed the 2008 Summer Picnic & Community Fair and has helped revive developmental programs such as the Entrepreneur’s Forum.

Presley is an entrepreneur and is currently a partner and Senior Business Analyst at TLCW Group, Inc. In the past, Presley has helped launch three entrepreneurial ventures ranging from an online classifieds community to an event planning business. As a long-time consultant, he has worked with clients to effectively implement technologies and streamline business processes to improve further productivity.

Presley earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration from San Jose State University. He was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. In his spare time, he enjoys snowboarding, camping, and fine dining along west coast. Where else can you camp on ocean beaches, hit the slopes, and come home to a nice relaxing meal in the same day?
